Fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine This book systematically describes the fundamental theories of Tradi- tional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It outlines the basic concepts and theories of TCM, such as yin-yang, the five elements, qi(vital energy), blood and body fluids, pathogenesis, pathology, the four diagnostic tech- niques, the eight guiding principles, differentiation of syndromes and ge- neral rules of prevention and treat- ment. Shuai Xuezhong, the author and translator of the book, is an associate professor and director of the English- TCM Teaching and Research Section at the Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
