1907. This work is intended to provide a systematized course by which teachers may assist their pupils toward that general knowledge which is necessary to the true musician. The keen competition in the musical branches at present, is gradually leading the musician to become merely a specialist; to counteract this, a study of those principles which underlie all music, such as the laws of Acoustics, musical form, etc., are most necessary, and this little volume is intended to become a textbook of such studies.
