内容简介:

Excerpt from Annual Report of Program Activities, Vol. 2: National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke, Fiscal Year 1971 The process of planning and developing a collaborative study of the criteria of cerebral death was accomplished by staff of the Office of the Associate Director and the Head Injury Section of the Special Projects Branch. With expert guidance from an ad hoc advisory committee, an acceptable protocol was developed and a coordinator and collaborators were selected. Contracts for the study will be awarded before July 1, 1971. Results of controlled and limited studies using the assembled data base have continued to come in to the Perinatal Research Branch. Subject area task forces, in collaboration with the Epidemiological and Statistical Advisory Committee, are redirecting staff effort and attention to larger, more significant statistical analyses to identify major trends, developmental patterns, and risk factors. Interesting and significant studies of the influence of infectious diseases in pregnancy and childhood upon the development of the child's central nervous system (cns) continue.
