A painter of international repute, Kees van Dongen (1877-1968) is perhaps best known for his enthusiastic adoption of Fauvism; a movement whose principles he embraced with boundless curiosity and with which he established a singular and dominant position. However, beyond this he was also a prolific graphic artist who mastered the techniques of lithography, etching, aquatint, engraving, pochoir and offset prints, book illustration and poster design. Comprising over 350 colour reproductions, "Kees van Dongen" catalogues all the prints the artist ever made. Supported by a narrative that provides insights into the development of Van Dongen's print career, such as his masterful control of the pochoir technique, this book also offers full descriptions of the works catalogued.
