A book about the untold bravery and endurance of Dr. Murray Levick and the Northern Party. On 29 March 1912, as Scott and his three companions lay dying in their tent, six members of his doomed expedition, the so-called Northern Party, were fighting for their lives. Hand-picked by Scott to do scientific research they were on a small island they christened Inexpressible, more than 500 miles north of Scott’s camp -- with only six weeks of provisions. Their unsung hero was Dr. Murray Levick, whose expertise in survival techniques saved his five other colleagues . He and his five men spent six-and-a-half months in conditions of unimaginable physical and mental hardship. This book is based on Levick’s previously unpublished, meticulous diaries, photographs and sketches.
